Nightmare

heart beats loud

breathing is soft

on the floor

a tangle of sheet and duvets,

while she tosses and turns in her midnight world of horror

With a thump she falls out of bed,

and suddenly awakes to the pouring rain.

Disorientated,

confused,

and scared.
